Zero Waste Hair Care: Good for Your Hair & the Planet

by Kayla Reusche on December 10, 2020

The wait is over. Zero waste hair care is here.

You’ve probably heard by now that the beauty industry is one of the most wasteful industries in the world. And if you haven’t, now you know. It’s always been our mission to be as mindful as possible with our packaging & carbon footprint, & now we’re taking it to the next level.

Meet our Pretty Hair Day Shampoo & Conditioner Bars

Our Pretty Hair Day Shampoo & Conditioner Bars are your zero waste hair care alternative, without having to sacrifice on quality. We’ve tested endless shampoo & conditioner bars & weren’t going to release them until we knew they were absolutely perfect. That day is here! Pretty Hair Day Shampoo & Conditioner Bars launch 12/11 at 9am CST.

Pretty Hair Day Shampoo & Conditioner Bars

These bars have everything you want in them & nothing you don’t. In typical Root fashion, they are vegan, SLS/SLES-free, preservative-free, water-free & only made with the best active, nourishing ingredients. Not only do they provide you with goal-worthy hair, but they are super easy to use, travel friendly & don’t take up a lot of space. That’s a lot of wins in our book.

Pretty Hair Day Shampoo Bar

This isn’t your typical shampoo bar. Formulated by a hair stylist & made in the USA, our Pretty Hair Day Shampoo Bar is a high-lather bar, leaving your hair feeling clean, refreshed & nourished. The active ingredients easily wash away dirt, excess oil & built-up product without stripping your hair of its natural oils & nutrients.

HOW TO USE:
Our shampoo bars are a breeze to use! Starting with wet hair, wet the bar thoroughly & work it in circular motions on your hairline & scalp, working the lather through your ends. Add more water for a more intense lather then rinse. If your hair is extra oily or has a lot of product in it, you may prefer to shampoo twice for best results.

INGREDIENTS: Sodium Coco Sulfate, Cocoa Butter, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Coco Betaine, Coco Glucose, Organic Grapefruit Essential Oil, Organic Lavender Essential Oil, Organic Rosemary Essential Oil & Organic Peppermint Essential Oil & Clay
2 oz net wt.

Pretty Hair Day Conditioner Bar

Our Pretty Hair Day Conditioner Bar was made with hydration in mind. Perfect for all hair types, you decide how much moisture your hair needs. This lightweight, nourishing formula won't weigh your hair down or cause buildup - just provides the right amount of nourishment that your hair needs.

HOW TO USE:
After shampooing, wet the conditioner bar & glide it through the mid-lengths & ends of your hair. After a few passes, you’ll start to feel the conditioner detangling & smoothing. Keep applying until your hair is free of tangles & distribute the product throughout your hair with your fingers. Long or thick hair may need more passes, where short or thin hair may not need as much. If you have extremely damaged or dry hair, try lightly rinsing the conditioner or don't rinse at all for a leave-in conditioner.

INGREDIENTS: Behentrimonium Methosulfate (rapeseed derived plant based wax), Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, D-L Panthenol, Strawberry Seed Oil, Quinoa Hydrolysate, Organic Grapefruit Essential Oil, Organic Lavender Essential Oil, Organic Rosemary Essential Oil & Organic Peppermint Essential Oil & Clay
1.75 oz net wt.

Not only are these shampoo & conditioner bars zero waste, packed full of incredibly nourishing ingredients & easy to use, but they’ll last even longer than your typical shampoo & conditioner. Our shampoo & conditioner bars can last up to twice as long as a typical 8oz bottle of shampoo with normal use + proper care & depending on frequency of use, hair thickness & how much you apply.

Set your alarms for December 11 at 9am CST & get ready for zero waste hair care!
