If you’re completely lost when it comes to applying eyeshadow, you’re not alone. What even is a crease shade & where’s the right spot to apply dark eyeshadow? Taylor’s got all the answers for you. Follow along as she teaches you how to apply eyeshadow like a pro!
No matter your skin type, it’s always a good idea to prime your eyes. This will create an even base for your eyeshadow to apply smoothly & help your shadows last all day long. Taylor used our Hello Pretty Under Eye Brightener here for the perfect matte base.
A transition shade is typically a lighter shade that you apply right above your eyelid crease & up toward your brow bone. A light brown like Sweet Tea or Duke is the perfect soft wash of color that will eventually help tie the entire look together.
Applying a darker eyeshadow to the outer corner will help bring dimension to your eyes. You'll want to place this shade on the outer third of your lid & into the crease to make your eyes the center of attention!
Pretty Tip: Try using your Deep Brown Brow Powder as a crease shade. This multi-tasking shade is a gorgeous deep brown that adds so much dimension & definition to the eyes - it’s one of our all-time favs!
Apply the same shade you used in the crease to your lower lash line. This will help brighten your eyes & make you look more awake - which we know is something we could all use!
Just about any shade will work on the lid, so choose whichever shade your heart desires! Here Taylor applied her Pearl Powder Mineral Foundation in shade W2 with our #10 Small Flat Brush to brighten up the base.
An inner corner highlight can completely transform a look. Use a light, shimmery shade like White Gold Illuminator in the inner corner of your eyes for that extra POP. This will also make your eyes appear brighter & bigger.
