DIY Pastel Liner

Pastels are having a moment. Look around and you’ll find them in fashion, beauty and home decor. It’s no accident that Pantone’s 2 colors of the year, Serenity and Rose Quartz, are pretty pastel shades! We’ve been feeling a mod, robin’s egg blue liner, so we DIY’ed it! Here’s how!

You will need
Hello Pretty Under Eye Brightener
Loose Eyeshadow of choice, (we used Varsity Blue)
Angled Brush

  1. Squeeze out half a pump of Hello Pretty Under Eye Brightener onto a plate or other flat mixing surface.
  2. Tap loose eyeshadow next to it.
  3. You’ll want to create a 1 to 3 ratio, Hello Pretty to shadow.
  4. Dip your angled brush in water and mix your Under Eye Brightener and shadow together, adding shadow until desired color is reached.
  5. Now you’re ready to line!

You can totally do this with any color you’d like to create a matte, pastel version of. Mojito makes a super cool pistachio, Teddy a girly lilac and Bubblegum a rosy pink. A few colors that contain black pigments like Piper and Stardust will give you a more gray tone shade when mixed with Under Eye Brightener so stick to the more vivid shades for maximum impact.

When lining with a more daring color like this, a wing really sets it off.

When creating a wing, sometimes it’s easiest to make your outer angle first, then work inwards.

For extra impact, line the outer third of the lower lashine.

We paired our serenity blue liner with rose quartz lips, easily created with our newest Pretty Balm in Lulu. We can’t wait to see your combinations and creations!

Although it isn’t a pastel, I did this with Lucky Penny, at it looked amazing!
