5 Reasons to LOVE Loose Mineral Eyeshadows

Loose Mineral Eyeshadows are incredibly gorgeous, pigmented powders made with pure minerals. Here’s our list of top 5 reasons to LOVE Root Loose Mineral Eyeshadows, as if you needed any more!

1. Stunning Pigments

With just a small amount of product and over 40 shades, anyone can achieve a variety of gorgeous eye looks. We’ve got stunning shimmers and elegant mattes, deep crease shades and perfect highlights. Our locking sift jars make application easy and mess-free.

Looking for a new favorite shade? Here’s a few recommendations!

Best-Selling Neutral - Tan Rose

Matte Nude Crease - Sunkissed

Shimmery Taupe - Janessa

Rich Brown - Midnight Mocha

Stunning Copper - Lucky Penny

Something Fun - Tart

Something Unexpected -  Mojito

Prettiest Eyeliner - Berry Matte

2. Clean Ingredients

Mica. Iron Oxide. Titanium Dioxide. Zinc Oxide. Carnauba Wax. That’s it. These crazy names may sound intimidating, so let’s break them down. They’re 100% natural and non-toxic, and we know your skin will love them.

Iron Oxides - These create the gorgeous pigments that make up the eyeshadows and blend flawlessly.

Titanium Dioxide - This is a natural occurring mineral which acts as a colorant, and is also a natural SPF which deflects UV light and protects skin.

Mica - This provides the pretty shimmer found in most of Root’s loose eyeshadows.

Zinc Oxide -  This mineral is used to naturally thicken our eyeshadows as well as heal irritations and blemishes, reduce signs of aging and serve as another natural SPF.

Carnauba Wax - This holds our loose mineral eyeshadows together and gives them a silky, smooth texture which makes applying them, especially as an eyeliner, super easy!

3. Gorgeous “Foil” Technique

Perhaps my FAVORITE loose mineral eyeshadow technique is “foiling.” Try mixing a small amount of water with a few taps of your eyeshadow into the lid. Apply with your finger or a flat brush like Root #12 Small Detail Brush. You’ll have a vibrant, metallic shadow that lasts all day and night. I love using this technique for inner corners and as eyeliner.

4. The Best Smokey Eye

With over 40 shades, creating a quick and simple smokey eye has never been easier. Loose mineral eyeshadows blend flawlessly, especially with Root #14 Fluffy Flat Eyeshadow Brush. Check out our tutorial and try it yourself. Tag your looks with #RootSmokeyEyeTutorial for a chance to be featured!

5. Create Your Own Pretty Gloss

Now this is where it gets fun! If you LOVE to DIY (me!), this one’s for you! Try mixing a small amount of your loose mineral eyeshadow with Root Clear Pretty Gloss. Mix and match colors to get a lippie shade that is 100% your own! If you try this one out, tag posts with #rootcustomcolor Who knows, maybe you’ll create the next Pretty Gloss! ;)

I love the loose eyeshadow! It gives me more of the dark smokey eyes. My favorite color is black, grey and brown to match my dark brown eyes. I cannot live without!

I really love the pearl color! I am pleased with the pigments of these!

by Courtney on August 16, 2018

I used to dislike loose eyeshadow because I felt like I ended up with way more on the brush than I wanted and it got all over my small eyes. I’ve tried this loose eyeshadow and don’t have any issues!

Replying to comment: I layer the So Bronze over the Berry Matte for a night out look. Any tips of how to use the So Bronzer for a day time look?

I highly recommend using Tan Rose all over the lid, So Bronze in the crease, and our White Gold Illuminator as a eyebrow highlight! This will give you a neutral everyday look. :)

Responding to the question: Which color would you recommend for light green eyes?

We LOVE neutrals & purple/mauve tones for light green eyes! I would recommend Tan Rose, Janessa or Portland!
